Is it necessary for children to take a pre-departure test before arriving in the Philippines?

For asymptomatic minors 3 years and below, they shall not be required to present a negative RT-PCR/antigen test result while for the symptomatic minors 3 years and below they shall be subject to the usual testing, and quarantine procedures for international arriving passengers. 

They must also complete the registration process and pay a separate testing fee. For minimized discomfort, infants will be swabbed through the mouth.

How do I pay the swab test fee?

Only non-OFWs are required to pay for the COVID-19 RT-PCR Test. The test is free for OFWs, whether they arrive in Manila, Bohol, Cebu, Clark, Davao, Subic, or Laoag.

If you are required to pay the testing fee for your flight:

The testing fee in Manila, via our DOH-accredited partner, Detoxicare Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory is at Php 2,500.  

  • Detoxicare Molecular Diagnostics is offering expedited early swab test with limited slots availability. Swabbing will be scheduled between 12:01AM to 2:00AM of the BOQ assigned day of swabbing, based on passenger classification and results will be available by 10:00am on the same day. Once a negative result is available, the traveler may already be released from the quarantine facility.

After registering for the One Health Pass, passengers will be provided with a QR code which will contain the payment link. The same payment link will also be sent via the registered email address.

1. Passengers must book the EARLY TESTING option through the pre-payment link.

2. Passengers may opt to book only until the day of their arrival.

Example:
Passenger arrival: November 1
Early Swab Booking Registration and Payment: until November 1

3. Strictly pre-booked and pre-paid passengers will be entertained. No phone bookings and on-site payment are accepted.

4. Limited slots are available, early swab testing option will automatically close once maximum number of booking is reached.

Payment may be made via cash in PHP or USD, card, AliPay, WeChat Pay, GCash, and PayPal at the hotel or through the Detoxicare pre-payment facility.

For those arriving in Bohol, the test fee is Php 650, and is conducted by Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital. The fee must be paid in cash.
 
For those arriving in Cebu, the test fee is Php 4,100.00. Payment can be made via cash (in PHP or USD) or credit card (Visa). Currency exchange booths are available inside the terminal. Non-Filipinos also need to prepare PHP 901.00 for the testing fee upon arrival, as mandated by the provincial government of Cebu.

For those arriving in Clark, the test fee is Php 4,000. Payment can be made in cash. Currency exchange is available at the terminal.

For those arriving in Laoag, the test fee is Php 3,500. Payments can be made in cash (PHP only), card (BancNet, Mastercard, Visa, JCB only), PayMaya, WeChat Pay, or GrabPay. An ATM is available in the terminal. You may also pre-pay for your RT-PCR Test online.

For those arriving in Subic, the test fee is Php 3,800 which must be paid online together with your registration.

What can I do at my assigned hotel while waiting for my schedules test and release of my result?

We encourage everyone to stay safe by staying inside their rooms and while waiting for their scheduled test and release of results. Certain facilities of your hotel may be open or closed depending on their quarantine and safety protocols.

Can families traveling together stay in the same room/hotel?

In compliance with Philippine regulations, only one person is allowed per room, except for the following:

  1. Families from the same household travelling together, especially those with minors;
  2. Health and emergency frontline services personnel;
  3. Guests requiring a companion:
  • 18 years old and below; and
  • Persons needing special assistance (e.g. senior citizens, PWD, with chronic medical illness)

A waiver for special cases is available upon arrival for other exemptions not stated above.

Does PAL allow connecting flights?

Domestic to international, domestic to domestic, international to international, and international to domestic connections are allowed. For International to domestic routes, only passengers who will not undergo the required facility-based quarantine are allowed to connect to their onward domestic destination. Please ensure that the connection is within same day or should be within 12 hours upon arrival.
